GCSE English Language and Literature Revision Courses

GCSE REVISION COURSES 2019!

The New Linear GCSE Examinations in English Language and Literature will soon be upon us and it can be a stressful time for both student and parent. As a result we have planned and devised Intensive Revision Days for the following set texts: Frankenstein; Romeo and Juliet; Macbeth; An Inspector Calls; and Lord of the Flies; Unseen Poetry and AQA Poetry Clusters; Language Paper 1; Language Paper 2. These are "stand alone" revision days and you can book one or three depending on your child's set texts and educational needs.
During the course of the English Literature GCSE Revision Day students cover: main themes; character analysis; context and setting; form, structure and language; plot and action; understanding questions; essay planning; responding to writers' effects; and using and embedding quotations.

During the course of the English Language GCSE Revision Day students will cover: Understanding the question; Identify and interpret information and ideas; Select and join evidence from different texts; Explain, comment on and analyse how writers use language and structure; effect on the reader; application of subject terminology; Compare writers' ideas and perspectives; Evaluate texts critically; Communicate clearly, effectively and imaginatively to suit purpose and audience; Organise information of text; Spelling, punctuation and grammar; and meeting the Assessment Objectives.
